Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Prevention Committee  »

The functions of the committee are: 1) Education and Prevention, 2) Review of and Recommendations for Policy, and 3) Communication.

Disability, Access, and Compliance Committee  »

Assists in the evaluation of current campus policies and procedures relating to students with disabilities; develops prioritized plans relating to programs and services for students with disabilities; reviews barrier removal priorities as specified in the State University Administrators Manual (SUAM); and develops timelines. Diversity & Equity Grants Committee  »

The Diversity & Equity Grant Committee invites HSU students, HSU student organizations, HSU staff, HSU faculty, and HSU underrepresented faculty to submit proposals for programs offered on campus to the university community that raise awareness, deepen understanding, and/or engage the campus community in dialogue about one or more of the multiple dimensions of diversity and equity.

Environmental Health and Safety Committee  »

Communicates and discusses relevant safety information across campus. Develops and updates written safety policies and procedures at a campus level, identifies safety issues and offer recommendations for improvement, provides feedback to responsible groups on workplace recommendations and status of programs, and raises the level of awareness for safety at HSU.

Humboldt Energy Independence Fund (HEIF)  »

Reduces the environmental impact of energy use at HSU through student-driven projects; reviews and prioritizes the allocation of fee revenue for projects that meet this goal.

Instructionally Related Activities (IRA) Committee  »

Advises the President regarding both level of fee and allocation of fee revenue.

Intercollegiate Athletic Advisory Committee  »

Serves as a forum for the Athletic Director to seek advice, refine ideas and develop or revise policies of the Athletic Department on such subjects as equity compliance, annual budget and the direction and balance of sport that constitute the program.

International Advisory Committee  »

Provides advisory support for, and promotes programs and initiatives that foster international educational opportunities for the campus community. Advises the campus community regarding international programs and international educational opportunities.

International Programs Screening Committee  »

Reviews applications, interviews applicants, and submits recommendations to the Chancellor’s Office.

Landscape and Tree Advisory Committee  »

Provides input to Facilities Management with regard to the planning, design and maintenance functions associated with the University's landscape and urban forest.

Serves as a forum for parking and transportation issues.

Sexual Assault Prevention Committee  »

Coordinates educational programs for the campus community that help prevent the occurrence of rape, acquaintance rape, and other forms of sexual violence; advises the Vice President for Student Affairs about campus policies and procedures that better support the prevention of rape, acquaintance rape, and other forms of sexual violence among the campus community, including treatment and information for its victims. Student Fee Advisory Committee (SFAC)  »

Advises the University President regarding the establishment and adjustment of all campus mandatory fees, user and penalty fees in accordance with the provisions of Chancellor’s Executive Order 1054.

Serves as an advisory, liaison, and outreach function between students, the Student Health Center and the campus Administration

Associated Student Committees, Boards, and Councils

A.S Funded Programs Committee  »

Increases the A.S. Funded Programs understanding of the A.S. Budget beyond the financial aspect.

A.S. Board of Finance  »

Proposes the preliminary budget to the Associated Student Board. Has general supervision of the financial affairs of the Associated Students.

A.S. Earth Week Every Week Committee  »

Plans programs, events, and workshops that seek to educate, create community, and foster dialogue revolving around the theme of sustainability specifically related to issues of social and environmental justice, human and non-human rights, and healthy lifestyles.

Administers the A.S. Elections and enforces the Election Code. Highly recommended for students interested in government, campaigns or those who are Government and Politics majors.

Serves as an advisory group assessing the needs and goals of the Association. Evaluates any A.S. Board member as to upholding their responsibilities when requested by a majority of the A.S. Lobbies on behalf of the students at HSU, develops relationships with elected officials who represent HSU students, and increases participation in elections through voter registration and education initiatives.

Creates a comprehensive, diverse variety of events and programs for all students, including concerts, epical events, films lectures, recreation trips, comedy, dance, etc. Develops an Empowerment Series of training, lectures and events to develop student advocacy skills.

Supports and advances the mission of Humboldt State University by managing and acquiring philanthropic contributions and funds. Serves as ambassadors for the University.

Center for Community Based Learning Committee  »

The Center for Community Based Learning Advisory Committee is comprised of HSU students, faculty, staff and local community partners. The Advisory Committee members provide feedback and guidance on the Center’s activities and strategic direction. Each member offers a unique perspective and represents their constituency needs and goals. The meetings provide opportunities for campus and community connections as representatives share their organizations initiatives.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Council [DEIC]  »

Works in partnership with the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (ODEI) to provide advisory council and leverage expertise to create institutional and systemic change collectively.
