Candidate Statement

Hello my name is Jazmin Sandoval, currently a film student at Humboldt, and I am running for AS President. I would like to represent and advocate for the students who are underrepresented here at Humboldt. It would be a great privilege to hold this position of power and will do so with care and compassion. I am currently the Environmental Justice Educator at The Womxn’s Resource Center and an active member of M.E.Ch.A de Humboldt. I will do my absolute best to listen and hear the voices of the students here who I know experience discrimination, housing and food insecurity, lack of resources and funding, racism, and other injustices. I will also hold a transparent communication between students and administration while also holding accountability and be responsible for the issues this university needs to address. I do believe my experience with social justice and activism has shaped me to qualify for this position as I am hardworking, energetic, passionate, easily approachable and committed to the betterment of our society, specifically our collective experiences and learning here at Humboldt.
